Beef Entrée

Cheddar Stuffed Jalapeno Burgers

I am really digging the lettuce “bun” for burgers.  So much so that I bought another head of iceberg lettuce with the only intention of making “buns” out of it.  I also had some jalapeno and cheddar at home, so I decided to make my own version of this recipe.

Start by preheating your Cuisinart Griddler (or other grilling apparatus) to medium-high…

  • Seed and finely chop 2 jalapenos.

image

  • Place 1.25 pounds of ground beef into a large bowl.

image

  • Add the jalapenos.

image

  • Add 1 tablespoon onion powder.

image

  • Add 1 tablespoon garlic powder.

image

  • Add 1 teaspoon salt.

image

  • Add 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce.

image

  • Add 1 teaspoon pepper.

image

  • Mix well and form into 8 small patties.
  • Break 2 slices of cheddar cheese into 8 small squares.

image

  • Take 1 patty of meat and place 2 squares of cheese on top.

image

  • Place another patty on top of that, and seal the edges to form 1 patty.

image

  • Repeat with the remaining patties.
  • Place the patties on your griddler and cook the way you prefer your burgers.  (Remember to flip once!)

  • While the burgers cook, cut up 1 head of iceberg lettuce into bun sized pieces.

Serve the burgers on the lettuce “buns”.

Enjoy!
